Meet the Writers

Jarrell Hamilton is a mother, choreographer, performer, educator and scholar. The New Orleans' native is a Tulane University alumni ( MFA ), Southern Methodist University alumni (BFA ) and has worked intensively in the field of Arts and Entertainment.

Dancer and choreographer Lauren Ashlee Small (M.F.A) passionately writes about all things dance. Small's dance education articles and working artist advice columns have been featured in Dance! North Texas magazine, the MFA Mondays blog at Frame Dance Productions, and TheWorkingDancer.com. Small dances with the Marigny Opera Ballet in New Orleans.

Shaté L. Edwards is a career coach, choreographer, writer, and entrepreneur. She has a Master of Fine Arts in Dance as well as a dance career that spans well over a decade. In addition to choreographing productions, she contributes to the career section of Dance Magazine as well as other publications, and she also supports budding and transitioning professionals through her business, The Working Dancer, and other endeavors.
