The New Orleans market for dance and commercial jobs is growing. With more film, tv, and music video directors choosing New Orleans as a backdrop dancers should be prepared if they want to work in the city.

TIPS FOR GETTING GIGS: 

1. Take class-  This is the easiest way to book a job. Many working choreographers also teach in the city. If you take their class they will already know you and youre movement. 

2. Have an updated headshot, resume, and video of you ready to send- Gigs pop up quickly so be ready when a call is posted. Saving this info on your phone can help you land a job. 

3. Have a friend video you improvising- You don't have an updated and clear reel of you dancing, have someone film you in a studio. Whether you're improving or doing a class combination having a good video of you dancing is better than no video.
