Delta Festival Ballet performs it’s 36th season of The Nutcracker at Mahalia Jackson Theater on Friday, December 22 at 7:30pm and Saturday, December 23 at 2:00pm. The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Glenn Langdon, will accompany the performances. American Ballet Theatre’s Christine Shevchenko and Gray Davis will dance the Snow Pas de Deux as well as Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier. They will be joined by the Youth Corps of over 100 young dancers, who will dance alongside our local professionals and dancers from all over the country. Local professionals include Isabel Borges, Griffin Collins, Donovan Davis, Grace Hart, Robert Montgomery, Jessica Donegan Van Vrancken, Chase Zibilich and Cutting Jahncke reprising his role as Herr Drosselmeyer.
