Journey of Dreamers is an original and exciting contemporary dance production that explores the American Dream, drawing connections between our past and present while confronting current events in order to shape our future. The dancers bring to life the stories of the 12 million immigrants who journeyed through the golden doors of Ellis Island, from leaving it all behind, to their courageous venture at sea, to being held waiting with an uncertain future. Meet the escapists, the unescorted, the reunited, the budding stars, and the dreamers whose united mission reminds us all of the origins of the American Dream. We celebrate Lady Liberty's offerings of freedom and opportunity without persecution and the melting pot that has ensued and enriched our culture. Join us as we reflect, is this the America that our ancestors risked it all for? Join us for an evening of dance, music, film, elaborate time period costuming, and set design as we learn and reflect on the deep meaning of our performance! You'll feel as if you are held on Ellis Island with the dancers as the dynamic stories unfold. We can't wait to share this intimate performance with y'all!
