EPISODES: Watermelon Dreams

EPISODES is a unique two-part work that includes a performance art installation and a 45-minute length performance component. Episodes honors atypical depictions of black womanhood from African American ancestry to single-motherhood. Native New Orleanian and two-time Big Easy Classical Arts Award winner, Jarrell Hamilton, known for her "infectious dancing" (Theatre Criticism) and acclaimed as "one of the city's best choreographers" (Southern Voices D' Project), premieres her first original full-length choreographic work in New Orleans produced by Tulane University Department of Theatre and Dance. Featured Artists: DC PauL Jeremy Guyton Zulu Connection Shango Bunmi #EpisodesNewOrleans The art installation component will be presented December 2, 2017 (12 Noon to 3 PM) at Newcomb Art Museum and December 16, 2017 at theContemporary Arts Center, New Orleans. The performance work will be presented January 24-27 at 8 PM and January 28 at 2 PM at Tulane’s Studio 300, McWilliams Hall.
