Artivism "Interactive Workshop"

..::GET TO KNOW Artivism Dance Theatre::.. Calling all artists, dancers, thespians, and anyone who has a interest in the work of Artivism Dance Theatre. On November 29th from 6pm-8pm, Artivism will host an Interactive Workshop at 1941 Arts Street New Orleans, La (Art Klub) THIS WORKSHOP will consist of -A Structured Improvisation led by company member Elle Ciccarone Jones -Choreography workshop (engage in the process we use to create new pieces) -Talk Back (Questions & Answers) Artivism Dance Theatre aims to create dance theatre works with a social message. The company’s goal is to generate a discussion among its audiences and use dance theatre to express the necessity for open dialogue around important social issues. Artivism Dance Theatre is also a mentoring program in which young performers with a desire to make an impact through their artistry can come together with professionals and collaborate. In this way, we strive to both produce work that speaks to the current social and political issues in our society and to create an environment where the next generation of artists can learn how to combine their passion for social justice with their love of dance theatre. Sophia Rabinovitz, artistic director of Artivism Dance Theatre, is a featured artist for Scavengers - A Project of Prospect New Orleans - P.S. Satellite, a multi-disciplinary arts exhibit showing through Feb 25th Art Klub. The galleries are open late Wednesdays, so please feel free to come a bit early and check out the exhibit, featuring many talented local artists.
