Bollywood Beats Workshop with Tenzin Dolker Tuesday, August 16th from 6-7:25pm NORDC Stallings Center l 4300 St. Claude Ave $1-10 suggested donation Free for DG members This high energy Bollywood class is a fusion of traditional Bollywood fast beat rhythm with movement that is full of grace, bliss and joy. Class begins with slow, warm-up music with classical hand gestures, head movements and stretching of the whole body. Then we will slowly move to faster beats with hip and shoulder shaking, hopping, clapping and fast feet taping rhythm. We round out class with a short except of classical Bollywood choreography. About Tenzin: Tenzin Dolker was born in India. She is an artist, activist, Yoga teacher, and passionate dancer. For the last 3 years she has been teaching Bollywood dance in India. Dance have been part of her life since a young age and contributes to acceptance, embracement and appreciation of the wholeness of existence. Dolker moved to Nola in August 2016 because of its diverse culture and life. She is inspired by artists such as Pina Bausch, Frankie Manning, and Thangtong Gyalpo(founder of Tibetan Opera) and styles including traditional Kathak Dance and Butoh dance.
