Delta Festival Ballet Announces 2016 Auditions for 35th Anniversary Season of The Nutcracker

The Delta Festival Ballet officially kicks off it’s 35th Anniversary season of The Nutcracker

with OPEN AUDITIONS on September 10 & 11, 2016 to be held at it’s home school,

Giacobbe Academy of Dance, located at 6925 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA 70003.

Auditions will take place Saturday, September 10th from 3:00pm-4:30pm for all dancers

ages 14 & up. Ladies should bring pointe shoes to this audition. Auditions will continue

on Sunday, September 11th with girls ages 7-10 from 1:00pm-2:30pm; boys ages 7-13 from

2:30pm-3:00pm, and girls ages 11-13 from 3:00pm-4:30pm. All auditionees must be at

least 7 years old by September 30, 2016. There is a $15 audition fee due at registration for all

auditionees. Audition fee should be paid by cash or check. Registration will begin 1 hour

prior to audition times. Auditionees should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their audition

time to register and warm up.

Performances will be held at Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts on

Saturday, December 17th at 7:30pm and Sunday, December 18th at 2:00pm. The

Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra will accompany the performances.
