​KELLYE SAUNDERS | DTH Ballet Master Currently a ballet master of Dance Theatre of Harlem Company, Saunders began herdance training at the Jones Haywood Schoolof Ballet in Washington, DC and continued atLe Centre de Danse International in Cannes,France under the tutelage of RosellaHightower. As a dancer at Dance Theatre of Harlem, where she spent most of her career,Saunders was a principal, dancing leading roles in Firebird, Creole Giselle, A Song for Dead Warriors, Apollo,Serenade, Adrian (Angel on Earth), The Four Temperaments,

The Moo’s Pavane, Allegro Brillante and Fancy Free. Saunders has also appeared on Broadway in The Red Shoes and Porgy and Bess, and as a guest artist inthe role of The Striptease Girl in Slaughter on Tenth Avenue with New YorkCity Ballet. After leaving DTH, Saunders was a principal dancer with BalletNY and Collage Dance Collective. Other guest appearances includeperformances with The Washington Ballet, Maryland Ballet, BallethnicDance Company, Gala of International Ballet Stars, Configurations DanceCompany, The Flint Institute of Music, Complexions Contemporary Ballet,and The Metropolitan Opera. Saunders has had extensive experienceteaching and coaching dancers at both conservatory and professionallevels. From 2010- 2013, Saunders served as the project coordinator forHarlem Dance Works 2.0, an innovative choreographic laboratory createdto produce new repertoire for the Dance Theatre of Harlem Company. She recently completed her undergraduate degree through the LEAPProgram.
